Terp2it/Chris Trew is a nationally touring comedian, rapper, actor, improv teacher and world heavyweight champion of the world. He’s performed at almost every comedy festival in the country and is a founding member of Megaphone Comedy, owners and operators of two comedy venues in Texas. He is the host of the Air Sex World Championships and founder of Studio8, a sketch comedy group who’s appeared on Comedy Central. A writer for the Austin Chronicle once said Chris Trew is out of his fucking mind.” Continue reading for more information (and links) on Chris’ projects.

Chris has been performing sketch comedy with Studio8 since 2000. They’ve appeared at several film festivals and often on Comedy Central’s Atom TV. They’ve produced a feature-length film, a weekly satirical newspaper at Louisiana State University and continue to put out new material every week on their website. Some favorites are here and here and here and below. One time a reporter from the Onion A.V. Club saw Chris perform and said that he boldly explores that blurry line between humor and performance art.”

Studio8 has released two Terp2it albums, The Freshest Dude and My Wiener Touches the Ceiling as well as the best music videos on the planet. Terp2it has been performing at music venues, outdoor festivals, major showcases and comedy festival after-parties for years. Terp is also the only rapper who has his own perfume line. His new album “Half Man Half Beard” is currently in production. He was once called The Andy Kaufman of Hip-Hop” by popular rapper MC Lars.

Chris tours the country teaching and performing improv with his best friend Tami. Chris and Tami have headlined improv festivals, produced their own improv festivals and taught over 500 people their style of improv comedy. They often perform on the podcast Hey Terp! available on the Studio8 iTunes page. They will come to your town if you ask them. The Austin Chronicle said they are a fiercely enjoyable brain warp of a time” and their classes are a gem of focused education.” Both of these things are very, very true.

Chris and Tami are also founding members of Megaphone Comedy, who along with Clay Barton and Amanda Austin, own and operate the Dallas Comedy House and The New Movement as well as produce the annual Dallas Comedy Festival, New Orleans Improv Festival, Mystery City Improv Festival, and dozens of live comedy events a month. Chris has also been involved with producing events at Austin’s FunFunFun Fest as well as SXSW. The Austin-American Statesman said that they’ve built their own language of improv.

Chris’ acting reel is terrible but he’s appeared in several films as well as commercials for AT&T and Intel. He’s contributed material to Weekly World News and appeared on an episode of Bad Girls Club. Another time Chris finished dead last in an Austin-American Statesman Most Eligible Bachelor poll, but he was also called energetic and razor sharp by The Gothamist.
